Davelyn

This is the finished product of the earlier sketch.

Meet Davelyn, the middle of three sisters who discover that their father is the ruler of a dangerous land in the far north called only the Winterlands. When mysterious men arrive at their uncle's palace one day, the three sisters learn of their father's passing and that he left his kingdom to them. They begin a perilious journey to become rulers in their own right as their realm is ravaged by war with a powerful... and evil ...enemy. To aid them are their father's closest and most loyal servants: two brothers with extraordinary powers.

I based the characters of the three sisters off my sisters and I. Davelyn is based off me, and I tried to draw her with some of my characteristics -- a rounder face, smaller eyes, not-so-thin figure, and fluffy, wavy hair.

Here I have tried to draw the same pose from two different angles. I love the first but the second one looks odd to me. Oh, well. This was the first time I have ever tried to draw the same pose from different angles so I am not too disappointed with the end result. I do love the hatching on the skirt. I was originally going to do cross-hatching, but after seeing just the diagonal, I thought it looked like a really cool print or texture.

By the way, this was the first time I used my brand new set of ink pens! They are totally awesome... even though I only used the Super-Fine and Fine pens.
