Are You Still Hungry?

Description

This is an illustration based off my sister's novel-in-progress, The Squirrel-Type Letters.

In this scene, one of the main characters, a talkative and not-all-there chipmunk named Scat R. Brain, has a fateful run-in with a very hungry fox named Reynard. Scat tries to talk his way out of being lunch and ends up joining Special Creature Reynard on a mission, but that does not mean the still-hungry fox likes the chattering rodent any. No, indeed. He is too annoying, but he does have his uses...

I started painting this picture while Dad read two chapters of Jessica's novel aloud, because I wanted to share this hilarious scene. (Not to mention, Jessi has been nagging me to draw illustrations for her story.)

Anyway, I love this painting, Jessi loves this painting, and so do our parents. That is all that matters. :aww:

Our power was out when I started this piece so the fox was done purely off memory. The power came back on just when I was about to start on Scat... which was perfect timing because I had forgotten what chipmunks looked like. ^^; I was able to Google photos of chipmunks to refresh my memory.

Will this be a book? my sister is making a childrens book about a fox who's den gets destroyed in a fire. So he tries to find a new den or someone who can help him make a den. she's only 9 but the book is great! everyone in her class wants it to be published! so i need to finish the illustrations and then give it to our friend, and they'll give it to a publisher they know ^^ the book its called"Scott The Swift Fox" she made it because she did a report on an endangered animal. She did a Swift Fox. and they are endangered because of hunters and dens getting destroyed.
