ACS Website Project

Description

In a web design class I am currently taking, over the course of the 8 week class, we are working on a website project of our choosing (fictional or real).

I chose to do a real project. My mother volunteers with the local branch of Adventist Community Services (ACS) [link] . Even though they run a food pantry, give financial assistance, run a thrift store, and even recently branched into selling hard-to-get vegetarian/vegan food products, they do not have their own website. I thought that would be a great project for my class.

Week 2
In Week 2, we were to create the index.html, one secondary page (services.html), and the corresponding CSS file for the layout. Nothing fancy. But I did give the pages a dark blue background because I could not stand everything being stark white, gray, and black. =D

Week 3
We were to create four more pages (store.html, foods.html, about.html, and contact.html) and spice up the design by choosing a color scheme and changing fonts, etc. As you can see, I got a bit carried away. But being a professional web designer, this class is a bit too basic and boring for me if I don't do any extra, you know? :aww:

You might be wondering why I went with textures and old paper for this site. That is because the ACS is located in the Historic Downtown, in a quaint, old-looking building, and as most of it is comprised of the Thrift Store, this theme just seemed to fit better than a sterile, clean look.
